Farewell to CaveInn's Creek: A Journey We'll Never Forget
Some litters leave a lasting impression.
The CaveInn's Creek litter was one of them.
Inspired by the beloved characters of Schitt's Creek, these puppies reminded us that every personality has something special to offer. Over the past eight weeks, we've laughed, learned, and watched each puppy grow into a unique individual with strengths all their own. From the moment they arrived five days earlier than expected, we knew this journey would be memorable.
A Strong Beginning
Milly welcomed ten beautiful puppies into the world and embraced motherhood with remarkable devotion. As a first-time mom, she exceeded every expectation. Her gentle instincts, patience, and unwavering care allowed each puppy to thrive during those precious early weeks.
Rueben once again proved why he is such an important part of our breeding program. His calm, stable temperament and exceptional English Labrador structure were evident throughout the litter, producing puppies with beautiful heads, solid bone, and the kind dispositions we strive to preserve.
Growing with Purpose
Every milestone mattered.
From Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction to the first taste of fresh goat's milk, each experience was intentionally designed to help these puppies become confident, resilient companions.
We watched sleepy newborns become playful explorers.
Tiny wobbles turned into joyful zoomies.
The nursery grew louder with happy barks, playful wrestling matches, and curious little paws discovering the world one step at a time.
The Cast of CaveInn's Creek
One of the joys of this litter was watching each puppy grow into the personality behind its name.
Johnny Rose reminded us that quiet confidence speaks volumes. Thoughtful and steady, he had an old-soul presence that naturally drew people in.
Alexis embraced every new experience with enthusiasm and confidence. Her outgoing personality and beautiful English Labrador structure made her impossible to overlook.
David quietly observed the world before joining the fun. His gentle nature and soulful eyes captured countless hearts.
Moira brought laughter wherever she went. Spirited, playful, and wonderfully expressive, she made every day a little brighter.
Patrick, our smallest puppy, proved that determination isn't measured by size. Always first to the goat's milk bowl, he embodied the phrase "little but mighty."
Twyla quietly stole hearts with her gentle spirit and affectionate nature. She reminded us that kindness has a way of leaving the biggest impression.
Bob approached life with endless enthusiasm. Curious, confident, and always looking for the next adventure, he encouraged everyone around him to join the fun.
Roland "Rollie" lived life at his own relaxed pace. Calm, content, and easygoing, he reminded us that slowing down is sometimes the greatest gift.
Stevie met every new experience with quiet confidence. Gentle, balanced, and naturally composed, she demonstrated the kind of temperament that makes an exceptional family companion.
Each puppy was wonderfully different.
Each puppy was exactly as they were meant to be.
Lessons from the Creek
If this litter taught us anything, it's that there is no single definition of the "perfect" Labrador.
Confidence can be bold like Alexis or quietly steady like Stevie.
Leadership can look like Johnny's thoughtful presence or Bob's joyful enthusiasm.
Strength can come in the smallest package, just like Patrick.
Every family is different, and every puppy deserves a home where their unique personality will be celebrated.
That is why we spend so much time getting to know each puppy before matching them with their forever family.
A New Chapter
As each puppy left the Creek, there were happy tears, long hugs, and promises to stay in touch.
While saying goodbye is never easy, it is also the moment we work toward from the very beginning. Watching a puppy leave for a family who has eagerly anticipated their arrival is the greatest reward of responsible breeding.
Each puppy leaves with more than a health record and a bag of supplies.
They leave with weeks of intentional socialization, careful handling, thoughtful enrichment, and a foundation built on trust, confidence, and love.
Love That Journey
The Schitt's Creek theme couldn't have been more fitting.
Throughout the weeks, one quote seemed to capture every milestone, every adventure, and every farewell:
"Love that journey for you."
To every family who welcomed one of our CaveInn's Creek puppies into your heartsβthank you for trusting us.
To Milly and Ruebenβthank you for giving us such an extraordinary litter.
And to the puppies...
May your lives be filled with love, loyalty, laughter, and the wonderful adventure of simply being a Labrador.
We'll miss you, Creek kids.
But we'll always love the journey you began here at CaveInn.
