Miss Hayzel, our chocolate female, was to be due to deliver puppies about November 15. The x-ray revealed there were indeed no puppies. She had gained enough weight over the last month that we were certain puppies were on the way.

Timing is everything in the science of breeding Labradors.

We believe our timing was a day or so late.  Hayzel's fertile window of opportunity had passed.

Thinking she was pregnant her food intake was quite a bit more than usual so the first days after realizing there were no puppies she was not happy about consuming less food. Hayzel is back on regular portions and beginning to shed a few pounds.
