Milly and Moon — A Familiar Light at CaveInn

Every so often, a dog comes along who feels like they’ve been here before, as if their soul has quietly waited to cross our path again. Milly has become that comforting presence for us, a gentle reminder of times past. Each day, she brings back memories and feelings of our beloved Moon (2012–2024), rekindling the warmth we thought could never return. It’s as if the space left in my heart when Moon passed is now being gently and carefully filled once more — not replaced, but beautifully renewed with hope and love. Milly carries so many of the cherished qualities we adored in Moon — her classic English Lab build, her stunningly soft white coat, and that calm, knowing spirit that brings a profound sense of peace simply by being near her.

There’s something truly timeless about Milly. She is gentle, steady, and wise beyond her years — the kind of dog who seems to intuitively understand you even before you speak a word. If ever there was a reason to believe that a soul might return to bless us once more, Milly feels like Moon’s special way of finding her way back home to the CaveInn.
