Angel Eyes

The #WinterSportsTeam has begun traveling home with their families. Many parents ask us if this is a difficult time for us. We always say that when the day arrives that puppies go home, we have done our job. Of course this doesn’t exactly answer the question if it is hard to say farewell. As I was putting together a summary of our time with them at the #CaveInn, the photos really struck me and I felt the familiar ping in my heart. I remember taking each photo and looking at each puppy as they allowed me into their soul.

They have the eyes of an angel and how blessed we are to be present in these moments when they enter the world, open their eyes, take their first steps, and learn about the world around them. When our puppy goes home, we know without a doubt they are headed home at just the right time to just the right family.

A piece of our heart goes with them because they have touched us quite deeply. Each puppy has emerged as an individual and has freely given us unconditional love. How fortunate we are to have these incredible weeks to make a difference in the rest of their lives.

We take this responsibility very seriously and yes, the goodbyes for us are tearful when they leave the #CaveInn.
