Ellie-Mae’s Special Delivery & A Tribute to Family Roots
This past week, we received exciting news—Ellie-Mae was expecting just two puppies. Knowing that smaller litters sometimes lead to complications, we stayed on high alert, ready to step in if needed. But Ellie-Mae was a superstar!
On Saturday afternoon, she went into labor, and by the early hours of Sunday morning, we welcomed a perfect little pair—one girl and one boy. The delivery was smooth, and we couldn’t be more relieved and grateful.
As we waited through Ellie’s labor, Joel found himself reminiscing about summers spent on his grandparents' farm—long, golden days filled with family reunions and summer picnics. His grandparents, Chris and Ruth, were the heart of their community—hardworking, generous, and always putting others first. Grandma Ruth woke up every morning asking herself, “What can I do for someone today?”
Miss Ruth
Grandpa Chris was a farmer through and through. He worked the land with mules before tractors became common, dedicating his life to the rhythm of the fields. Grandma Ruth was not only a fantastic cook but also raised chickens, ensuring the neighbors never went without fresh eggs. Those days feel so far away now, a simpler time that seems almost lost in today’s fast-paced world.
It feels like fate that Ellie-Mae’s puppies arrived on Groundhog Day—Grandpa Chris’s birthday. In honor of the legacy of love, hard work, and generosity they left behind, we’ve decided to name these two special pups Chris & Ruth.
Welcome to the #CaveInn, little ones. Your names carry the spirit of two incredible people who made the world a better place.
Mr Chris
