Sam & Rueben: Breeding Excellence in English Lab Puppies
CaveInn’s Quiet Winter
A season of stillness, softness, and subtle beauty
Puppies Arrived January 27, 2026
Winter is not loud at CaveInn.
It arrives softly—measured, steady, and intentional.
Quiet Winter reflects the calm rhythm of the season when the world slows and what matters most becomes clear. Snow settles, sound is softened, and there is space for growth to happen without urgency. It is within this stillness that CaveInn puppies are welcomed into the world.
This theme honors the subtle beauty of winter: resilience without force, warmth without excess, and strength built quietly over time.
About the Parents:
Sam:
Miss Sam is a striking champagne female from Sterling Creek Labradors, a long-time and trusted partner in our breeding program. She represents a thoughtful blending of proven lines, classic structure, and the dependable temperament we value so highly.
Her dam, Gypzy, is a thick-boned, English-style black female with correct conformation and an exceptional disposition. Fondly regarded for her unofficial role as a “therapy dog,” Gypzy regularly brings comfort and joy to seniors in assisted living facilities—a true reflection of the calm, intuitive, people-centered temperament we strive to preserve in our Labradors.
Sam’s sire, Ozzy, is a liver-nosed white male and a son of the well-known Huck, with pedigrees that reach deeply into our own established lines. This lineage provides both consistency and predictability, reinforcing the type, temperament, and structure that define our program.
In contrast to her dam’s quiet steadiness, Sam is a young, athletic female with enthusiasm and drive. She is alert, engaged, and always ready for the next task, thriving when given a job to do. Her energy, confidence, and natural athleticism suggest exciting potential in performance venues—we would not be surprised to see her excel as a dock dog or in other working activities.
Sam has completed her orthopedic health testing with excellent results, earning OFA GOOD hips and OFA NORMAL elbows, confirming her sound structure and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the future of CaveInn Labradors. We are proud to officially welcome Sam into our breeding program and look forward to the balance, versatility, and vitality she brings to the next generation.
Rueben The Ghost:
Rueben comes to us from Hedge Lane Labradors, the renowned home of “Big Sexy” Nash. His sire, Elway, is a direct son of Nash, carrying on a powerful and impressive lineage. Rueben’s offspring consistently showcase the beautiful, classic English Labrador look that many admire. He serves as a great example of an improved Labrador, combining excellent physical traits and temperament.
Rueben is rapidly becoming a stunning black Labrador sire, known for producing puppies in nearly every color of the Labrador spectrum. Health-wise, he is clear of all genetic diseases according to Embark testing. Additionally, his hips fall within the medium range for laxity as per PennHip evaluations, with OFA hips graded as GOOD and OFA elbows rated NORMAL, ensuring he passes on sound health to his puppies.
